Dangling Thread

Clothing...an ever evolving necessity that we as humans use to conceal our being. Clothes are not permanent, in fact they wear out and often need to be replaced. They can be stained, stretched, shrinked, ripped or torn. They come in sizes, some too small and others too big.

Have you ever had a piece of thread dangling from your clothes that you didn't want to pull because the whole thing would unravel?

Say it's your favorite shirt that you've been holding onto that isn't in the best of condition, but you refuse to rid of it.

Metaphors aside, what I'm really talking about is holding on to people or things in general.
Letting go is a task that doesn't come with ease, but at some point we all must do so. It is not for the weak at heart...it requires a steadfast mind frame and good judgement.

Questions to ask when determining if you should let something or someone go: Do I really need this? Do the benefits outweigh the negatives? Will this make me a better person?

Even though at some point, you were close-knit, just as clothes aren't permanent so are certain bonds. Adjusting to life without your former apparel may be hard to get accustomed to, but after while it may not seem so difficult. Plus, the clothes don't make the person...

So next time you find yourself with dangling thread; take a pull at it, you might be surprised at how well things stay put. If you're feeling risky take it a step further, not only cut it loose--throw it away in its entirety. Let go, clean out your closet!

Mixtape?

Hmmmmm...I've decided I'll do a mixtape before I come out with a CD 100% produced (lyrics, vocals, beats) by me. I initially wanted my first released work to be done completely by me, but until I can I want to give people a taste of my material. So Why Not do a mixtape? Now the question is what would be the perfect instrumentals to choose? Guess I gotta think about that. So far, I know I'll do a dedication to my mom off the Halo instrumental (since thats her favorite song). I need time to think this through so stay tuned. Another thing I need to think about is what type of message I wanna send through my lyrics...It's definitely got to be something different than today's current music, but still relatable. Guess I got my work cut out for me...well I'm up for the challenge! [LIVELIFEFEARLESS]

Why Not?

Well, finally I've had some time to sit down & map out things. Although, I'm one who strives to do things on my own I've come to the conclusion that I'll compromise on certain things until I've mastered more skills. So in the meantime these are a few things I have in the works: S.H.E.: Stories of Her Escape chapbook, a mixtape, a vlog and possibly the beginning of my campaign/ business. 2010 is the year of Why Not? So why not follow a dream? Why not try things you'd never try? Why not go beyond the norm? Why not let go? Why not LIVELIFEFEARLESS?
